Powell Mercantile project receives honor from Wyoming Association of Municipalities

Powell's Mercantile project has been recognized on the state level by the Wyoming Association of Municipalities.

WAM President Trudy McCraken presented a Community Hero Award to the Powell Merc Board of Directors at the association's June meeting in Sheridan. The honor, instituted by WAM in 1996, recognizes individuals and groups which have made significant contributions to their communities.

The Powell Merc project "displayed leadership, commitment and dedication to improving as well as preserving your community. The project has truly benefitted the Powell community," McCraken wrote in an award letter to Mayor Jim Milburn.

Those honored by WAM include Ron Blevins, Jennifer Jensen, Andy Lampe, Mike Reile, Harold Robirds, John Wetzel, Ken Witzeling, Jim Wysocki, and the Powell Valley Chamber of Commerce.
